Thursday June 12th , 2008 Scottsdale , Arizona - Velo Vie Bicycles High above Quebec on Mont Mégantic, Miguel Martinez proved he was king of the mountain in the Stage 3 at the 23rd edition of the Tour de Beauce. The five time world champion and Velo Vie Amore e Vita rider Martinez broke away from the pack in the closing meters of the race to claim first place and a second win for the Italian team. Early in the race, Velo Vie rider Phil Cortes owned the course in a 2 man break that left no doubt that the Amore e Vita was going for the win. In the final kilometers leading to the climb, the Amore e Vita McDonalds riders were swallowed up by the peloton. Martinez made his move 300 meters from the finish, leaving behind the final eight riders. "There was no doubt in our minds that Martinez would score this victory on the road riding a Velo Vie," Homayoon Farsi CEO of Velo Vie was quoted. "The combination of superior riders from Amore E Vita McDonalds and the Velo Vie Vitesse 300 SE, is proving to be a force to be reckoned with," Farsi said.
