Team Army-USAC is a registered United States Cycling Federation (road) and National Off-Road Bicycling Association cycling club under USA Cycling, the governing body of cycling in the United States. It began as an extension of Team Army Cycling-NCCA, the collegiate racing team of the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. This intent of this group is to provide a unifying vision for military cyclists in the United States Army (Active-Duty, Guard, Reserve, Retired, and Cadet), regardless of what kind of bicycle racing or riding that you do. Being a registered USAC club allows us to obtain race permits and host races, access the Regional Administrators for coordination and assistance, and establish credibility in the world of competitive cycling and within our own Service's MWR and Outdoor Recreation Activities. Members are not required to purchase USA Cycling licenses. Currently, the plan is for Team Army-USAC to remain web-based, a virtual cycling club of sorts. The real riding and racing takes place at YOUR duty station. The goal is for members to establish local chapters at their respective duty stations throughout the world to form military riding / racing groups. |
